The Groover Big Band is a young and contemporary big band, consisting of 20 students from TU Delft. The line-up consists of 5 saxophonists, 4 trombonists, 4 trumpeters, a drummer, bassist, guitarist, pianist and a singer. In the 17 years that this big band has existed, it has developed rapidly and has more than proven itself at, for example, Delft and Breda Jazz Festival, Montreux Jazz in Switzerland, galas, weddings and other events. Under the direction of conductor Niels van Willegen, the band brings a varied program. From Classy swing, as sung by Frank Sinatra, to quiet ballads to dance romantically to. But also up-tempo Funk and dazzling Rock 'n Roll are not shunned in the shows. In a tuxedo with a pink bow, the Groover Big Band offers a stylish show in an energetic set that will not leave you uninterested for a moment. Then you've come to the right place. <br><br> Magatama is a 16-piece fusion band that serves you Jazz, Rock, Pop and much more like a colorful cocktail. Magatama is not only for the trained listener and the enthusiastic dancer, but also for the sociable drinker. On request, the band can supplement its set with atmospheric background music before they blow their feet off the floor, and in this way can fill an entire day's program. The band can also play in a smaller formation.

We are Jazzkoor Vocalzz: a dynamic jazz choir founded in 2008, consisting of students from the student jazz association Groover. Our specialty is jazzy a cappella, or singing without instruments. That means close harmonies, scatting, ballads, barbershop and more!

Under the guidance of our talented conductor and jazz singer Nadia, we sing polyphonically in sections: sopranos, mezzo-sopranos, altos, tenors, baritones and basses. Together that sounds overwhelming!

BUNKER consists of a bunch of stage animals, come together with a common passion for brass, EDM and rave music. Separately, our four band members have already performed in places like; Montreux Jazz, Oerol, Paradiso and Afas Live. Now we are ready to bring down the stages together. We do this with almost exclusively our own work, written from only one vision: the experience of the dancing masses. BUNKER is exactly what you want to go all out at a festival. The tight drum beats and the steel baritone provide the foundation, the sultry and heavy keys mix like concrete between everything and the brass anti-aircraft guns do the rest: bang and pound!

With their cheerful repertoire, these two neat gentlemen regularly play at company days, (Christmas) drinks and recruitment events. They create a cozy atmosphere but also play interesting music for the active listener. The guys from Decent Men have it all.

Meet WD-40, a dynamic new jazz duo. With the smooth strumming of the guitar and the soulful saxophone melodies, they create a refreshing sound that's both captivating and cool.

Butter is the basis of every good sandwich, but there is little flavor to it. It's like the Jazz Standard, you have to add a little salt to it to make it interesting. Jazz duo Salted Butter takes the Jazz standard with a grain of salt for a tasteful and innovative performance.

Vloed is the latest jazz trio to wash ashore in Delft. It consists of three young boys who can intrigue with complex solos and symbiotic interplay, but also function perfectly in the background. One moment they let the audience dream away with ballads, but don't hesitate to swing their feet off the floor or take a trip to the Bossa Nova. They are inspired by Bill Evans, Ahmad Jamal and the trios of that generation. Perfect for occasions such as weddings, get-togethers or small parties.

The Van Rosendaal quartet focuses on lesser-known bebop repertoire, interspersed with Beautiful ballads and cross-pollinations with Latin and funk.  Elbrich van Stralen on piano, Cas Jiskoot on bass, Laurens Buijs on drums and Jasper van Rosendaal on sax A dynamic stew of tasty and surprising jazz that can be adapted at every opportunity.


Van Rosendaal Kwartet

Das Trio is a jazz piano trio, mostly inspired by Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans and their trios. Their repertoire consists mainly of well-known standards from the jazz world, which they can convey both wildly and energetically as well as atmospheric and quiet for an appropriate atmosphere. They mainly focus on the classic jazz that could be heard in the Jazz Clubs of New York around the 60s, but occasionally provide a modern twist. They are very suitable for all kinds of events, such as get-togethers, conferences or weddings.

'The Kroese Quartet is a young combo that has been set up with great musicians in my immediate environment.' - Bart Kroese Like attracts like and when it clicks well, you can feel it. With drummer Laurens Buijs, Cas Jiskoot on bass, Tuhin Das on piano and Bart Kroese on trumpet/flugelhorn we have a great combo that always enjoys making music. This combo mainly plays traditional jazz, such as the classics played by all the legends. In addition, this combo experiments with the combination of hip-hop and jazz, in which there is a lot to discover. The Kroese Quartet can adapt the music selection for any occasion, from an energetic dance atmosphere to quiet background tunes, due to the flexibility in instruments.

After regularly playing together in several larger combos, pianist Elbrich van Stralen and singer Yiska den Breejen felt it was time for a women-only combo: FemmeJam. Elbrich and Yiska are perfectly attuned to each other and bring their listeners a diverse repertoire: sultry ballads, swinging tunes, and jazzed-up classics—there truly is something for everyone!

Born out of a shared passion for blues, jazz and funk, Organism is a collective by 4 students from Delft who make each song their own through tight interplay and Spectacular solos. Inspired by artists such as Delvon Lamarr, Booker T., Sven Hammond Soul and much more, Organism is ready to pull out all the stops to get you hooked. get dancing!

Holland-Americalijn is a sax-piano duo. They are always up for Jazz Ballads or Bossa Nova, but they certainly don't hesitate to add Swing every now and then. Ideal as a mood setter for a dinner or drink, but they can also be used on other occasions. It can also be played unamplified if a piano is present.

Meet Blueprint, the soul-jazz duo that offers the perfect musical touch for special moments such as corporate get-togethers and weddings. They play songs by well-known artists such as PJ Morton, Erykah Badu and Gregory Porter, with their own unique twist. Whether you are getting together with colleagues, celebrating your big day or any another occasion, Blueprint will create a relaxed and fun atmosphere with their soulful background music.

Our extensive repertoire, which includes funk, acid jazz, Latin and neo-soul, makes us suitable for many occasions; from weddings to festivals. One thing's for sure, though: the VISTIX vibes won't be missed.

With minimal accompaniment, you'll be taken on a journey through new and old jazz classics, which sound like never before due to the minimalist execution. Our music is like a cheese board of genres; one Delicious mix of soul, jazz and funk that you can't resist. From quiet mellow songs to the background, to songs you can't wait to dance and sing along to.

With a drummer who normally plays rock, a funky bass player and a pianist who can only play jazz, the Heemels trio creates a fusion of Scandinavian jazz, classical and a touch of hip-hop. While playing, the listener is taken on a journey with dreamy melodies that slowly build up to heavy interludes that seem to have originated from an underground discotheque.

They play surprising and fresh compositions of their own in the form of the well-known jazz styles Swing, Bossa Nova and Ballad, but also make excursions into Funk, Waltz and Latin. Hoogland Quartet is a jazz quartet consisting of a singer, pianist, double bass player and drummer and is the perfect musical accompaniment for your event, whether it is a drink, party or a wedding! The quartet effortlessly switches from stylish background music to swinging dance music and always adapts to your wishes as well as possible. The repertoire consists mainly of jazz standards and some fresh versions of more modern songs. On request, specific songs can always be rehearsed.

Saluto! We are Carabinieri! A 5 piece swing jazz band with an Italian flair. Our band consists of a double bass player, drummer, guitarist, pianist and a flugelhorn. This allows us to create a wonderfully jazzy and mellow sound in which we play different genres. Think of bebop, bossa or some crazier songs always with a catchy swing. It doesn't even stop there, we also write songs of different genres and expand our repertoire considerably. We can be deployed anywhere, think of a quiet background atmosphere or a catchy fast listening concert in a jazz bar on 52nd street, everything is possible!

These are the ingredients for this musical journey through the eras of vocal jazz. <br> <br> Whether you're looking for energetic swing to throw a party, or just want to unwind while enjoying a delicious ballad, Yiska & the Jazzketeers is always a good choice! The musicians are experienced in different genres, making it always an unforgettable experience, whether this is swing, bossa or vocalese.

JUNE is the trio where the real jazz standards can be heard. The trio consisting of Elbrich van Stralen on piano, Cas Jiskoot on double bass and Laurens Buijs on drums can be used for different occasions: is it a drink, a wedding, a party where the fine sounds of jazz are requested, for JUNE this is all possible! Jazz Ballads are interspersed with fine mid-tempo standards, but also real bébop could be featured. All in all, JUNE creates a pleasant atmosphere and adapts to any occasion.

Four young boys, led by a bearded drummer, play jazz classics from the 50's and 60's. From bebop to ballads, they improvise with a good dose of energy. Whether you want to party with double swing or relax with something more subtle, anything goes. Inspired by legends such as Charles Mingus or Sonny Rollins. They have been playing jazz by the book since 2016 ... Or not! Time and time again, they build an exciting spectacle out of small principles. So book them quickly because the drum solos are selling like warm baras.


Van Gasteren Quintet

SPØTTR is an enthusiastic, fun 6-piece band that aims to get your feet off the floor. get. We originated around February 2022 in Groover's jam factory and when we noticed that It sounded good, together we never looked back. Two singers together with a Swinging rhythm and melody section make up the line-up. Our motto is: Jazz&amp;Pop on the spot! We can deliver the best background music, as well as escalate into a top party. Backyards Student associations or Michelin-starred restaurants? Nothing is too crazy for us. SPØTTR

Tiewrap: the jazz combo that you can't really loosen, but only tighten! Yiska's vocals take you from solid swing to quieter ballads and are accompanied by Thomas on the piano. Due to their line-up, they have been placed in many different places in recent years; from a small stage in a café to a large-scale stage.

Vrolijke Gypsy Jazz in the style of Django Reinhardt and the Rosenberg trio. With two acoustic guitars and a saxophone, the characteristic swing sound of the 30s is brought back with a modern touch and influences of Bossa and Swing music. Thanks to the small line-up, they can easily play (both acoustic and amplified) anywhere, from outdoor garden parties to the smallest stage in a pub.

D.S.J.V. Groover is the student jazz association of Delft and was founded on November 21, 2006. In a short period, Groover has grown into a full-fledged association with nearly 400 members who share their passion for jazz and related styles such as funk, Latin, soul, fusion, and blues. Groover conducts its activities in the building near Cultuurlab (Brabantse Turfmarkt 9), where a jam session/social gathering is held every Wednesday!

Every wednesday night we have drinks together at Cultuurlab. In contrast to other associations, these nights are accompanied by live music sessions. You are also free to join these jam sessions yourself!

Throughout the year Groover hosts different events, such as JazzClub and Groover Live, where you get to dance to some of our best bands. With the exception of Just Jazz, all of these events are free to attend!

Besides lots of musical experiences, Groover also helps to connect people and offers a great atmosphere to make new friends. Our members quickly feel at home once they have joined the association.

We have many different committees that allow you to develop your skills, such as event planning, photography or design. Take a look at our committee page to find out which one is most suitable for you!
